Sun temple at Modhera is situated around 100 km from ahmedabad towards mehsana. This 11th century temple is UNESCO world heritage site presently administered by Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).

Ahmedabad is the nearest Airport and the distance would be 100 km. A road trip from Ahmedabad to Modhera would take 2 hours with usual traffic.
Best time to Visit.
Visitors are allowed to visit the monument between 6AM to 6PM with an entry fee of Rs 15/- per adult. Ideally sunrise and sunset are the best time to visit for photography purposes. Its a remote village surrounded by industrial zones, therefore you will not find good restaurants and food joints nearby.
